According to the Secretariat of Planning of Alagoas of and the IBGE – published in 2008, the service sector presented , in 2006, a nominal growth de 13,4%, passing of R$ 8,2 billions to 9,3 billions. That is due to the performances of subsectors, like accommodation and food (51,4%), that are included restaurants, bars and hotels; given services (46,6%) and commerce (15,3%). The industry grew by 6.2% in 2006, rising from $ 3.4 billion to $ 3.6 billion.
The extractive mineral activity grew 48 %, and it has like main floats the Petróbras and the Brasken, and for the production and distribution of electricity, gas, water, drain and urbane cleaning. The year 2006 also disposed a nominal increase of 4.7% in agriculture, value added increased from R $ 1.092 billion to U.S. $ 1.143 billion. The highlight of the sector was agriculture, with a growth of 6.5%.
The sub-sectors that had the highest nominal growth rates in the period were: Accommodation and Food (51.4%), mining and quarrying (48.0%), services rendered to companies (44.6%), Fishing (31.1 %), Production and Distribution of Electricity, Gas, Water, Sewer and Street Cleaning (26.2%), commerce (15.3%), government (15.2%), Agriculture, through the Cereals (14.1 %) and sugar cane (10.3%), Services (12.4%), Transport (11.1%) and financial intermediation (10.1%).
Some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil, bathed in the greenish waters and beautiful natural pools are the main attractions for tourists. The charm of virtually untouched beaches in coastal North and South is even more highlighted with on the northern Lodgings of high luxury of the Region.
The Coral Coast, on the northern coast and beaches such as French, Barra de São Miguel and Gunga are among the highlights.
